South African Pantry Liquor Limited
Off licence 45/OFF/891/2026, endorsed under section 40 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 for remote sales.
South African Pantry Liquor Limited sells alcohol online for delivery within New Zealand. We take that responsibility seriously. This policy sets out how we do it, and it applies to every person who works for us and to every order we accept.
Our commitment
We will not supply alcohol to anyone under the age of 18, to anyone who appears intoxicated, or to anyone buying on behalf of a person in either of those groups. We would rather lose a sale than get this wrong.
How we verify age
We verify age at three separate points, and an order has to pass all three.
Before browsing. Anyone reaching an alcohol product on our website must confirm they are 18 or over before the page will display.
At checkout. Before payment, the customer must make a declaration confirming that they are 18 or over, that the person receiving the order is 18 or over, and that they understand photo identification will be required on delivery. The declaration names our licensee, our licence number and its expiry date, and links to the licence itself.
On delivery. Alcohol is delivered by courier on a signature required service with an age restricted ticket. The courier must sight acceptable photo identification showing the recipient is 18 or over, and the parcel must be signed for. We do not permit authority to leave, and alcohol is never left unattended at an address. If nobody can produce identification, the parcel is not handed over.
Acceptable identification is a New Zealand driver licence, a current passport, or a Kiwi Access Card.
When we will not deliver
We do not deliver alcohol outside the hours of 6am to 11pm on any day. We do not deliver alcohol on Good Friday, Easter Sunday or Christmas Day, or before 1pm on Anzac Day. Our website will not accept an order for delivery on those days or at those times.
What we sell and how we promote it
We sell alcohol imported from South Africa. We do not promote alcohol in a way that encourages excessive consumption, and we do not run discounting that would breach the conditions of our licence. Where the law restricts single container sales or requires minimum pack sizes, we follow those restrictions.
Alcohol is presented on our website separately from our food and catering products, and an order cannot combine the two.
Our people
Our alcohol sales are supervised by a holder of a manager’s certificate. Everyone involved in taking, packing or dispatching an alcohol order is briefed on this policy and on their obligations under the Act before they begin, and again whenever the law or our licence conditions change.
Records and complaints
We keep a record of alcohol orders, the age declaration made on each one, and any incident where an order was refused or a delivery was not completed. These records are available to the licensing inspector, the Police and the Medical Officer of Health on request.
If you have a concern about how we have sold or delivered alcohol, contact us and we will respond. Concerns can also be raised directly with the Kapiti Coast District Council licensing inspector.
